Bora Bora was  the last stop in French Polynesia before Julian Ritter set sail for Hawaii. He picked up a new crewmate, Winnfried Heiringhoff, who joined Julian and Laurie Kokx as they gathered provisions and prepared the Galilee for the 2500 voyage to Hilo, Hawaii which ultimately led to the crew's 87 days adrift in the South Pacific..

Julian also painted while in Bora Bora and this painting is from 1970, just prior to setting sail for Hawaii.
